Faith-based organizations do incredible charitable work, but are all your activities aligned with your charitable purpose and are you aware of the risks if they aren’t?

IntegralOrg invites you to this one-day financial management training course for faith-based organizations. In this session you’ll hear expert advice that will help you define roles and responsibilities in financial management and know what you can expect about the following topics, whether you’re a volunteer, board member or spiritual leader of your faith-based organization:

  • Managing Internal Controls: Putting the right policies and controls in place is important for financial management. Learn how to monitor your investments and property and the payroll and personal laws you should be following.  Spruce up your record keeping protocols and learn the safest way to manage cheques, petty cash and disbursements.
  • Tax Receipt Dos and Don’ts: Learn all the mandatory elements needed for tax receipts and the systems you need to ensure you’re issuing receipts for eligible gifts. Gain the confidence and skills to protect your church from fraudulent use of receipts.
  • Registered Charities Information Return: Learn CRA expectations of charities submitting their T3010 (Registered Charity Information Return) and make sure you have the skills to file your return with ease.

This workshop is led by Betty Thompson, FCPA, FCGA, and Stella Penner FCPA, FCGA, CA. Betty and Stella are excited to share their expertise on a number of financial management issues they have seen in their work with faith-based organizations as auditors and consultants.
